Okay this scared the HELL out of me, But I made it so much worse by exploring the forest.
If you ever wanted to make a bigger game you could add another house, or an objective where you take the figure back into the woods.
I would LOVE to play a full version of this!
It was amazing. Thank you

Awesome work. Can't wait for the full release.

Well done! Blair Witch got nothing on Rootman! Keep it up!

Cant wait to see more

Rootman is a monster that dwells in the deep, dark woods of a small town. It is said to have roots that run deep into the earth and a body made of twisted, gnarled trees. No one knows how old it is or where it came from, but the townsfolk fear it all the same. Rootman is feared for its ability to manipulate the trees and plants around it, using them to ensnare its victims. It is said that once caught in its grasp, the roots wrap tightly around the body, squeezing the life out of its prey. Those who have encountered Rootman describe it as a towering, shadowy figure with glowing eyes that seem to follow their every move. Despite its fearsome reputation, no one has ever been able to destroy Rootman. The monster is cunning and elusive, always slipping away from those who attempt to hunt it. And so, the town lives in fear of Rootman, never venturing too far into the woods for fear of encountering the monster. It's said that on quiet, moonless nights, one can hear Rootman's haunting laughter echoing through the trees, reminding the town of its ever-present presence and the danger that lurks within the forest

😊👍

I loved this. I would love to see you guys create a longer horror game! Awesome job!

This game was awesome, the graphics and details was great, the atmosphere was spot on and I got frightened real quick. Hopefully this short horror game can be made into a full game somewhere in the near future.

Interesting game.

Just now had to reupload the video because of weird motion blur issues that occurred in the rendering process. Love the concept of bodycam found footage. No Idea how you could improve upon the concept but I am excited to see where you are going with this!

This was great imo, the environment was welldone, the monster looked really creepy, I liked the end part, good work :)

love your video ❤️

This game is great. One suggestion is to allow resolution changes in the pause menu. I'm guessing this played in 1440p, which is my monitor resolution. This lagged my OBS a little although it doesn't come through in the full video.

this looks like a walmart remake of blair witch... is it based off of it?

wow the graphics are incredible please release the full game soon!!!

Don't bring weird roots back home - Lesson learned!

Stunning visuals, intense gameplay and creepy atmosphere - an excellent blend of the environment and camera with exceptional scares, ambience and overall, brilliant gameplay. I liked the project a lot. The strongest point of the story was an exploration done by the main character. I wish the game had multiple endings or maybe it can go on longer with additional footage or a different perspective.

Well done developer, can't wait to see more. Cheers!

Had a great time with your game! The lights blowing out were honestly the most panic inducing part and I also managed to softlock myself twice LOL oops!! Thanks for your game and hope to see more!!

wow, the Bodycam effect with unreal engine is Awesome. The mini game is already very nice but can you imagine If you add some other monsters and give the pistol to the cop....
